Visual storytelling is a big part of my life. In my late teens I fell in love with photography. I then became a broadcast journalist. While working in the media in Vancouver, I took a hiatus to study filmmaking and television production at the Vancouver Film School and B.C. Institute of Technology — the natural extension of skills and experience gained in the media. In 2005, I moved to China. In Beijing, I joined the Documentary Channel of China Central Television as part of a team taking documentaries filmed in China and preparing them for broadcast to a global audience. The skills, experience and creativity developed over years in broadcast media now fit the needs of online multi-media presentation — where good story telling, and the technical and creative skills required for producing visual stories are in demand.
